Notice of Open House Public Plans Display

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation invites you to attend an Open House Public Plans Display for the State Route 422-29M reconstruction project located in Wyomissing and West Reading Boroughs, City of Reading, and Cumru and Exeter Townships, Berks County. The purpose of the project is to upgrade the current facility to provide a safe and efficient transportation system for both regional and local connections in the area by improving safety, reducing future congestion and bringing the roadway and structures up to current design standards with no or minimal design exceptions. The project proposes to fully reconstruct and widen SR422 to 6 lanes as well as reconstruct four interchanges including N. Wyomissing Blvd, Penn Street/Penn Avenue, Lancaster Avenue, and I-176.

During the Open House you can discuss the project’s development, proposed design, construction staging, and approximate schedule with PennDOT and the design consultant, McTish, Kunkel & Associates, representatives. A questionnaire will be available for the public to complete, so we can gain additional information. Please leave your completed questionnaire in the comment box.
